English owners, John and Janet, have lived in South Africa since 1974; initially in Johannesburg, mostly in Durban and in Sabie since 2006.

John spent 45 years in the construction industry, while Janet's career path meandered from graphic design and teaching to banking and real estate. With no previous experience in the Hospitality Industry we started Porcupine Ridge in December 2007 and took to our new venture like ducks to water. Since those first tentative steps Porcupine Ridge has won prestigious awards, been featured in several national publications and hosted guests from over fifty countries.

John is an active golfer and armchair sports enthusiast. Janet enjoys walking and yoga. We are passionate birders and Kruger Park devotees. We have two sons, living in England and New Zealand, two Golden Retrievers and two Siamese cats.

Over the years we have travelled extensively throughout southern Africa and are more than happy to assist with your holiday planning if required.
